Agriculture is the backbone of Nepal’s economy, livelihood, and heritage. The Agriculture Faculty at VVRI is dedicated to advancing agricultural practices, fostering innovation, and supporting sustainable farming communities across Nepal. Our mission is to empower farmers, researchers, and entrepreneurs by blending traditional knowledge with modern agricultural technologies.

Key Areas of Focus:

• Sustainable Farming: Promoting eco-friendly and resource-efficient farming methods such as organic agriculture, permaculture, and agroforestry.
• Agri-Technology: Introducing modern tools, precision farming, smart irrigation, and agricultural mechanization to boost productivity.
• Soil Health & Crop Management: Research on soil fertility, pest management, high-yield and climate-resilient crops.
• Livestock & Animal Husbandry: Improving livestock management, veterinary services, and breeding practices to support Nepal’s dairy and meat sectors.
• Agribusiness & Market Linkages: Supporting value addition, processing, marketing, and entrepreneurship to connect farmers to national and global markets.
• Climate-Resilient Agriculture: Educating farmers on adapting to climate change impacts such as erratic rainfall, floods, and droughts.
• Farmer Education & Training: Organizing workshops, demonstrations, and training to enhance farmers’ skills and knowledge.

Our faculty collaborates with local communities, academic institutions, NGOs, and government bodies to ensure holistic agricultural development in Nepal.
