Ecosystem Restoration and Habitat Conservation

Many of Nepal’s ecosystems are threatened by human activities such as deforestation, mining, and urban expansion. Our ecosystem restoration programs aim to restore the balance of these environments, ensuring that they continue to support a wide range of species and ecosystem services, such as water filtration, carbon sequestration, and soil stability.

Reforestation and Afforestation

In degraded areas of the terai region and hills, we are actively involved in reforesting lands through large-scale tree planting initiatives. These efforts are critical to restoring habitats for species like the sloth bear and wild boar, as well as for improving soil quality and reducing the risk of landslides.

Wetland Protection and Restoration

Wetlands are some of the most biodiverse ecosystems in Nepal. We focus on protecting and restoring wetlands, such as the Rara Lake and Koshi Tappu, by controlling the spread of invasive species, cleaning up polluted areas, and working with local communities to establish sustainable management plans for these vital ecosystems.
